Syllabus: Route Two
This thematic and cross-regional part of the course is assessed in an exam lasting 1.5 hours. You need to answer 2 essay questions in this exam, with each question chosen from a separate 'topic'. Each topic has 6 questions to choose from. Topics covered in depth:
Option 1) Causes and practices and effects of war: First World War & Second World War
Option 3) Origins and development of authoritarian and single-party states: Hitler & Mao
Option 5) The Cold War:
(You may also be able to answer a question from "Option 2: Democratic States - challenges and responses", as it is possible that there could be a question on Weimar Germany. But this should not be your first choice!)
